Krum High School has a rich tradition of excellence in academics, athletics, fine arts, and extracurricular programs. Krum High School is proud to be the home to five State Champion Basketball Teams, three State Champion Cross Country Teams, the 2017 UIL 4A State Softball Champion Team, four State Champion FFA Agriscience Fair Teams, and two National Champion FFA Agriscience Fair Teams.
Krum High School is home to 634 students in grades 9-12, residing in Krum ISD in Denton County. The school is designated as a UIL 4A high school. KHS serves students through an 8 period day. Students are required to obtain 27 credits on the Foundation with an Endorsement plan. Students on the Foundation plan are also working to receive a Distinguished Level of Achievement. With 8 class periods, KHS students have numerous opportunities to receive multiple endorsements.
To best serve the students, KHS has two assistant principals and two counselors. Each assistant principal is paired with a counselor and assigned an alphabet group of students. KHS offers an opportunity for all students to attend tutorials before school and after school; in addition to a bell schedule that includes an enrichment period (WIN Time) that allows time for targeted instruction. We are very fortunate to have student centered educators who believe in children and want each child to have the very best educational experience.
The Krum community and families are highly involved in our school. Community involvement is witnessed at school events, through attendance at KHS events, financial support, and guest speaker/volunteer opportunities. Parental involvement is evidenced by active involvement within respective booster clubs, PTO, various student organizations, and after school events. Parents are encouraged to play an active role in their student's secondary educational experience.
Krum ISD’s mission is to create a collaborative atmosphere with parents, students, and members of the community in order to ensure students will reach their full potential by providing every child with an exceptional education. We will strive to prepare our students academically and socially to embrace their future challenges, as well as ignite the desire to be lifelong learners, by providing a safe, respectful and positive learning environment.
