I am excited to begin my first year as a Krum High School counselor!  I enjoy helping young adults grow and discover the endless opportunities available to them in high school and beyond. My goal is to help your child discover what the world has to offer them and to navigate high school in a manner that leads to continued growth and success long after graduation.

My path to becoming your child’s counselor began when I was younger.  I grew up all over as a child and had to learn to adapt to my surroundings and rise to meet new challenges that came from new schools early on.  When I graduated I was the first person in my family to attend college and I majored in Animal Science and Ag Education. I received a B.S. in Agriculture and a M.S. In Agriculture from Stephen F. Austin State University.

As a college student I had to learn to do everything from applying to college and financial aid to ordering books and supplies because no one in my family had ever gone to college before.  While in college I discovered my life long love of education and the quest for knowledge.

I went on to teach various subjects including science, history, and agriculture in grades 4-12 in Lufkin,  Bryan, Fort Worth, Wichita Falls, and Mansfield, Texas. The majority of my years in education were spent as an agricultural science teacher where I was able to coach students through leadership to be lifelong learners who develop personal and career success.

As a teacher I have always enjoyed helping students explore their options beyond high school and providing them with tools and skills for success.  After 6 years of teaching in the classroom I decided to obtain my administrative and counseling certifications through Lamar University and San Angelo State University.  I currently hold a M.S. Educational Counseling from San Angelo State University.

This will be my first year as a counselor at Krum High School and I am extremely excited to get to know you and your students.  I have no doubt that my first year may present some challenges as I learn a new role, but with challenges I know there will be a great satisfaction in working everyday to help students reach their  potential.

I take my role very seriously and promise to do my very best for our students and families.  I am so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this team of teachers, staff and administrators working everyday to provide the absolute best education for our students. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have.
