On October 19, 2019, the Krum High School Marching Band, colloquially known to the town and students as the Blue Brigade, headed to the C. H. Collins Athletic Complex in Denton for the UIL Region 2 Marching Contest.
While getting ready to perform, they got a special surprise: a section of the stands contained various athletic organizations and their students donned with signs there to support them in their efforts.
At the end of September, a band parent reached out to Krum ISD with the idea of “flipping the table” on Friday night lights and bussing the football team to a band competition. Through working with coaches, the athletics department was able to arrange transportation for students to a very important competition- the UIL Region 2 Contest. KHS athletics went above the initial request, and had students from organizations like cheerleading, basketball, and track all volunteer to support the band! In fact, so many students wanted to partake in this opportunity that KHS needed 3 busses to get them to the stadium!
To add to an already incredible experience, the KHS Blue Brigade received Superior Ratings on their performance by UIL.
